Here is a striking example of fine aquamarine from the Nerchinsk gem mines of Russia. The specimen boasts impressive size, measuring a full 12.7 cm in length. The crystal has a consistent sea foam blue color throughout, though thin banding that is typical for the specimens from the region is also present. The crystal has a crisp form, and a nicely maintained flat-top termination. Three sides of the crystal are deeply striated, adding a subtle textural quality to the piece, while internal veils create a beautiful play of light. The custom made acrylic stand by Sunnywood is included.
