Bill & Carol Smith Collection Bill and Carol Smith collected sulfosalts in general, but they collected bournonite as an impressive stand-alone suite with representation from many disparate localities.

This is a wonderful miniature from a seldom seen bournonite locality. The cluster of unusually sharp bright bournonite crystals in not on matrix, but the back of the specimen is covered with tiny pyrite crystals. Too bad it doesn’t have some rhodochrosite in association. The accompanying Cal Graeber label is loaded with provenance written on the back. It lists Willard Perkins, Terry Wallace, Gene Schlepp, and Victor Yount as past owners, quite a litany.
